KOLMIKKO
As my inspiration I chose the Central Library, which will be built in 2018 in the center of Helsinki. Since the beginning of the project, the future users have been involved in the design process. The Central Library will be a place to share information, knowledge, time and experiences. There is a space for every function and user group; citizens share culture under the same umbrella. KOLMIKKO is a set of tableware inspired by this notion of sharing. The set includes two ceramic bowls, a small glass jug and wooden utensils. The bowls have handles with which to carry or hand over to the person next to you. The wooden serving utensils follow along. KOLMIKKO is a set of tableware items which can unify the table setting or be used as single items.
