DESsERT
The Dessert series was inspired by the Winter Garden in Helsinki, which is a green oasis located in the heart of the city. I chose this venue for my design inspiration because I wanted to have a reminder of the happy and colorful days of summer during the coldest and darkest days of the Finnish winter. I was especially fascinated by the cactus plants and their funny shapes. I decided to create objects which would be bold and characteristic yet happy and playful like the cactuses that I saw in the garden. The Dessert series consists of two cake domes made of glass and porcelain and a collection of colorful porcelain espresso cups.
